I’m the creator, producer, and host of My Great Pivot, a podcast featuring female founders who’ve left traditional jobs to pursue their dreams, available on all major podcasting platforms (Apple, Spotify, YouTube, Amazon, Panoply, etc). In the process of creating the series, I’ve developed AI-enhanced workflows to speed asset creation, editing, and promotion.

The Production Incentives Insider newsletter demystifies the complex world of global media production incentives. The newsletter is read by hundreds of industry insiders, from producers and film commissioners to studio heads.

A platform and Substack newsletter that celebrates female entrepreneurs, offering lessons and inspiration for those who dream of launching their own businesses.

As a producer and expedition leader with National Geographic Television, I’ve trekked into distant forests in Africa in search of chimps with Jane Goodall, searched for monster pythons in remote Congolese swamps, and camped in locations ranging from the middle of the Sahara to the flanks of an active Guatemalan volcano. In 2002, I was part of the three-person crew that tracked down the “Afghan Girl,” subject of the famous 1985 National Geographic Magazine cover; the subsequent film and magazine story helped raise millions to build schools in Pakistan and Afghanistan. The documentaries I worked on covered a range of topics, from wildlife management, paleontological discoveries, and climate change to public health and pandemics.

As Vice President of Content Development at National Geographic Television, I developed and sold ~$200M in original content, including hit series like Monster Fish, Dangerous Encounters, Border Wars, and the Emmy-nominated limited series Who Cares About Girls? My team and I created compelling content from complex topics that ranged from big engineering, climate change, and natural history to current events and cutting-edge scientific developments and discoveries.

As Executive Producer with HGTV and the DIY Network, I oversaw hundreds of hours of hit content annually, including viewer favorites like House Hunters International and Building Off The Grid. I also developed, identified the talent for, and executive produced the HGTV hit series Fixer to Fabulous, currently in its 8th season.

At Warner Bros. Discovery, I was promoted into the newly created position of VP of Global Content Production to design and implement a global production partnership with Polish broadcaster TVN (part of the WBD family). Focusing on efficient, cost-saving international collaborations, the initiative generated up to $5M a year in savings across 26 separate projects, including 27 recreations for Investigation Discovery, Travel Channel, and Discovery UK/Max; remote post-production workflows executed in Poland for US- and UK-based series at a 50% savings; and the production of thousands of marketing assets for multiple markets at an 80% savings.

As a Certified Cultural Intelligence (CQ) Facilitator with the Cultural Intelligence Center, I help individuals, teams, and leaders navigate the challenges associated with crossing cultures in the workplace. My workshops and keynote addresses tackle topics that include building high-performing multicultural teams and the power of challenging assumptions. You can find out more about these services at Globally Minded.

I’m the author of three thrillers, including two unpublished works that are currently under film option agreements. Rumors of Savages was inspired by my adventures in the field producing documentaries in far-off locations for National Geographic. The Wine Forger tells the story of an unlikely forger of high-end wine who’s caught up in a billionaire’s deadly scheme. Your Last Life follows an ambitious young journalist’s attempts to bring down a popular yet controversial startup that’s making millions conducting past-life regressions.
